Tweet for Jacob
The power of online media has been greatly exemplified in different events that have been happening. It can be attested that people can make a living out of blogging or by just using other forms of social media platforms. One great idea would be helping out other people in the process of doing something you want. Such is the case with Leapfish as it has joined forces with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to adopt an ill child’s dream and help make that dream come true.
The "tweet-a-cause", a social media fundraising initiative, will give Twitter users the power to grant an ill child’s dream to go to Disneyland, one Tweet at a time. LeapFish will donate 5 cents per Tweet to the Make-A-Wish Foundation until $10,000 has been raised and the child and his family can go to Disneyland. Jacob, age 4, has a rare and life-threatening disease that has affected him since birth. He has one big wish in life –- to go to Disneyland with his family.
It's nice because you get to reach out to others without really having to donate thousands. You can just continue doing what you're addicted to doing online and basically help out in the process. This tweet-a-cause will run from November 16 through November 27, 2009. LeapFish will match each Tweet with 5 cents to a target of $10,000 which will get Jacob and his family to Disneyland.
