Shooting Trees at Microtel Inn & Suites Luisita in Tarlac

After a fun afternoon of Go Kart racing in Tarlac’s Kart City, we spent the night in Microtel Inn & Suites Luisita. It was an adrenaline-packed day, like all the other days of our Lakbay Norte 3 familiarization tour. I immediately hit the sack which made me wake up early the next day.

I’ve been to a Microtel property before. It was where we stayed when I won a blog contest about Boracay. True enough when I checked our room, the chiropractic “healthy for the back” beds were there and they’ve always been consistent about this feature.

Finishing my morning meal early, I was able to check out the surroundings outside the hotel. This was what I discovered – a pond surrounded by trees; tall ones at that!

I immediately took my Sony DSC-TX10 camera out and played with its panoramic settings. Thanks to Christian of LakadPilipinas.com for educating me about that camera feature! I was able to test it out in this location.

Aside from sunsets, I’m a sucker for tall trees. Seeing them reminds me of UP Diliman’s sunken garden or Silliman University’s amphitheater. There’s something about them. I guess they remind me of school days where students sit under a shade after a tiring day of classes. Others are playing frisbee, some are just chatting with friends. Overall, it’s the fact that you have a place to relax while waiting for the sky to turn dark that make places like this special.

I only noticed the beautiful trees that morning. I wanted to stay a little longer, but the organizers were already calling me for our next activity. We were headed to SBMA for the Jungle Survival training.

I still managed to take a few more panoramas despite panicking that the bus would leave without me.

I remember showing my shots to Christian while inside the bus hoping for his approval, which he gladly returned with a smile. In reality though, I wanted him to step off the bus to take pictures so I can learn a few more pointers from him. Probably next time. 🙂

  1. Ba't pag ako panicking, puro bluured ang kuha ko? Hmp. :p The B&W shots look otherworldly. Gandwa! And what's with the chiropractic bed? Does it mean it's matigas? 😀
Nakadaan na ko dito sa Luisita. The place is indeed photogenic. I remember the Aga-Mikee Cojuangco romcom that was shot there. Shooting trees din ang cinematography nun. 🙂

  2. @marx: Thanks marx! daan ka dun uli! 🙂

@docgelo: haha, pareho lang tayo doc! nangangapa ako uli, go to auto-settings na ako. hehe.

@AJ: haha, this was a point and shoot camera, AJ. chamba lang, mahirap pag SLR and manual. nafufrustrate ako kasi i take a long time pa. Not sure sa chripractic bed. lol. basta good for the back. lol.
