One More Week in Dungun, Malaysia

I haven’t blogged for quite some time. I became busy with other types of work that I failed to update this site, even just with short stories on what I’ve been to lately.

What’s up then? I’ve got one more week to stay in Dungun, Malaysia. I can’t believe I’ve been here for two months! I’ve become comfortable with the environment and with this welcome change.

I joined a jungle trek to the Chemerung Waterfalls yesterday. Tomorrow, I’ll go on another snorkelling adventure at Tenggol island. The next days, I’ll be biking to town and I’ll also relax on the shores.

I suddenly have so many activities with the extra time that I have. To think that my six-month travel insurance just expired. I might have to get an injury claim package elsewhere. I haven’t used the six months but it’s better to have a back up because I know that I am my biggest investment.

I only have one week left and time has surely flown fast. In eight months of backpacking in Southeast Asia, this is the best set-up so far.

It’s been a great experience to live near the beach as this was what I was looking for when I was in Siem Reap, Cambodia; of which I never had in Bangkok, Thailand.

I’m surely going to miss the beach, the people, the activities, and most especially the comfort. I hope to be back some time in the future. I’d like to revisit this place which has truly helped me get the best of both areas (work and fun) in a beautiful setting.

I’m planning to stay four days in Singapore – which will be my fourth visit this year. Afterwards, I’m bound for Bangkok. I’m heading towards the north and will check out what Chiang Mai has in store for me. I hope to have more experiences like these when I arrive on that city. For now, I’m just making the most by creating more experiences and adventures here.

For two months in my backpacking adventure, I worked in a restaurant in a five-star resort in Malaysia. Check out my other adventures in Tanjung Jara Resort here:
