You just came from a long vacation and now you’re leaving again?
The expression on his face was priceless. There was no need to answer as I understood that it was a rhetorical question. I just had to smile to eliminate the moment of silence between his eyes and my smirk.

Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong | Fisherman’s Wharf, Macau | Station 2, Boracay
Khao San Road, Bangkok | South Angkor Thom Gate, Siem Reap | Isla Reta, Samal
History repeated itself and recalling these two scenarios crack me up. It’s such a crazy situation that even my manager asked me if I was alright.
This was an overwhelming experience that also gave me a lot of catching up to do with work after those dates. You can imagine the ton of emails that I would’ve read if I didn’t bring my laptop with me. That’s why I’m glad to have access to my email on the road. Whenever I was able to catch a quick internet connection, I would read and delete unnecessary messages which helped keep me in the loop at the office. It’s not really something I can recommend as one should not think about work while on vacation. But it saved me a lot of hassle when I transitioned to the office environment after the trip.
I wanted to write about this as I still can’t get over it. Makes one realize that when you think about the times that you think you’re screwed, the universe just conspires and gives you what you’ve asked for. Because of this, I’m truly grateful.
PS: Will be preparing for another trip over the weekend and I don’t think I’ll be able to update this site right away. I’ve so many pending tasks but the next posts will continue more about my trip in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
