I've been to Different Places, But I've never been to Boracay

I have a friend who kept on going to Boracay as if it's just a regular destination. She said that since I'm a travel blogger, I should feature Boracay in my blog one of these days. I said I would if I could.

Boracay, as they always say, is the ultimate destination for adventure and relaxation.

Now I have a possibility to go on a free vacation in this island paradise through the South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR) and Microtel Inns Suites Boracay Bloggers' Tour. The chance to go along with other travel bloggers is also tempting because of having the opportunity to meet and bond with people who share the same interest for travel blogging.

Visit the SEAIR Facebook Fan Page for the details of this contest. Check out the SEAIR website and the Microtel Philippines website for more information.

I'm a hyperactive person who loves to travel and exudes energy all the time. For me, Boracay is the ultimate place to be. Below is my entry to SEAIR & Microtel Boracay Bloggers' Tour for a chance to go on a vacation to this paradise.

Lago Del Rey at Camsur Watersports Complex

You can feel like a kid again at Lago Del Rey at the Camsur Watersports Complex in Camarines Sur. I was there last year and the memory of having a giant playground with inflatable structures, is still fresh in my mind. The lake served as an obstacle course of some sort wherein you can just have fun. It’s a milder version of the popular show ‘Wipe Out’ but still enjoyable.

How to Get to Lago Del Rey in CWC

Lago Del Rey is located at the Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC). It’s about  20 minutes away from the Naga City Bus Terminal and around 10 minutes from the airport. Public utility vehicles (jeeps and trykes0 are available and you can ask for directions from the people around as it’s a very known destination. They’ll usually direct you to their provincial capitol as CWC is situated there.

Talima Adventure Water Park in Cebu was Closed today

June 18, 2010.
Darn it. Talima Adventure Waterpark in Cebu was closed today!

talima adventure park going to Talima Adventure and failed cause the water park was closed. Toinks

Some colleagues and I were planning to go to the waterpark in Olango Island to have fun but it turned out that they were not operating from June 15 to 18 due to some constructions that were being done to improve the place.

I called earlier just to ask for more information on the location but then the phone number (+63 915 255 5991) had no answer.

When we went to the docking area beside Hilton in order to check out the place so we can hire a pump boat ride. We even got a bit confused as to where the jump off point was for the Islands Banca Cruise boats. When we got there, we felt all excited knowing that we were about to experience a good water adventure. My colleagues just got out from their shifts at work and hadn’t had time to sleep to see what’s in store but when we arrived, they said that the park was not open; bummer.

We talked to the staff, hoping that we could still make it but they said that it was really closed. We asked if they posted it on their sites and announced it well cause we were unaware. They said that they did and it was really disappointing on our part but we didn’t blame the crew though.

So we walked going back to our ride and tried to come up with a plan B. We received a text message from the Talima Adventure number and I tried dialing in again. This time I was able to talk to one of their representatives, “Kichi” and she told us that they made the necessary announcements about the park being closed. I had my Smartbro unlimited Plug-it with me and checked their Facebook page again, went to their Wall and found out that they did post something.

talima facebook should’ve checked their Wall in Facebook

It's sad knowing that we reserved this day and even filed for leave ahead of time in order to experience the adventure hype that Cebu is talking about. I was even glad because we could relive the time when we were able to visit the Camsur Watersports Complex in Naga some time last year.

Oh well, we couldn’t blame them. It was just depressing and I felt stupid because of not going through the site thoroughly.

Note: Talima Adventure and Water Park will resume operations on June 19, 2010.

Camarines Sur: Parish Church of St. Michael the Archangel

Parish Church of St. Michael the Archangel
Caramoan Town
Camarines Sur

During our second day of the adventure in backpacking from Cebu to Caramaon, CamSur, before we had another stretch of island hopping activities for our second day (we went to the islands of Manlawi, Cotivas and Sabitang-Laya), we dropped by a church in the Caramoan town.

The Parish Church of St. Michael the Archangel in the remote town of Caramoan in the Philippines. This church was put up by the Franciscan missionaries who wanted to spread the good news in the late 16th century.

It was nice to be able to wake up and then go to church, even if we did fall behind a little late for mass because of being tired from our island hopping in Matukad and Lahos. The St. Michael the Archangel church has a large and wide courtyard which is great for spending an afternoon or in our case, morning to sing songs of praises.

I could only see bikes, trikes and probably a jeepney or two parked but aside from that, there were no other vehicles outside which made it really serene and remote. I like the way the faded red or rustic bricks complimented the fresh greenery of the lawn.

This church in the Caramoan town gives you that simple but nostalgic feeling that whenever you come back to this place (if you grew up here), you’d remember the times you’ve spent being dragged by your parents to mass.

I thought the wake boarding was already enough because we were pressed with time and I wanted to be able to finally ride the board on my feet. I didn't think I would enjoy it here in Lago del Rey but I did.

It was raining at that time and it's good thing that i bought a cheap waterproof case for my camera to take pictures on while we were, for the lack of a better word, playing.

The rates are really good and affordable that's why I would really to go back here someday. Travelling to these places really made my day and made me want to stay in Manila so I can visit other beautiful places in its neighboring regions. But then I should be careful what I wish for.

Had a blast at Lago Del Rey which is a giant playground of inflatable structures that made me feel like a kid again. It was tiring because of all the pulling from the cables when we tried wake boarding and we had to swim to each obstacle and pull ourselves up to those inflatables.

When it was time for us to go home, we also had a shuttle that would bring you to where you want to stay. It's nice because they brought us to SM again for dinner and the shuttle was free! haha. We went back to SM and then killed the time for our trip back to Manila.

Lago Del Rey Entrance - P120 per hour (don't wear anything that has a zipper or metal in your wardrobe as this will possibly damage the inflatables)

You can visit their site at www.lago-delrey.com for more information.
