I’ve been working in front of a computer for almost six years and with the set up that I have now of being location-independent, coffee shops are the usual places where I hang out.
I’m really thankful that I can carry my work with me anywhere I go so long as there’s a good internet connection. With my laptop in tow, all I really need is a comfortable seat where I can stay for hours without having to worry about back and other body problems. I’ve had my fair share of sitting without a table or without support for my back and the results are not very nice whenever I go home to rest.

cafes with comfy seats are places I frequent

I used to work in a contact center, and a colleague informed me about ergonomics and why our office chairs were built the way they were supposed to. It’s to help increase productivity while also reducing stress when doing our jobs.
That’s why whenever I visit these cafes, I usually hope that I get really good furniture like the ones at The Furniture Market. Not only are they beautiful to look at, they are also made to make sitting in front of my laptop a breeze. Plus the overall ambiance of the place makes it even more relaxing! This creates a positive atmosphere which helps me become more productive and I also get to update my online portfolio with the jobs that I have
I don’t just sit for two hours in these coffee shops, the minimum is usually four and I’d usually last for eight or even ten hours! Sometimes the internet would go offline because of the cafes busted router but it’s alright as I still get to do offline activities once in a while. So long as I have a nice place to sit on, then there wouldn’t be a lot of complaints you can hear from me.

The biggest comfort thing for me in a cafe is temperature. Certain ones always seems to have their A/C on way too low for me and I have a hard time getting creative when I am freezing!

@Annette: I can totally relate to the freezing temperature! If that happens, I usually end up with many bathroom breaks in between. A thick jacket definitely comes in handy.

I'm not sure if I can work as well as you in cafes, I'm too easily distracted by the comings and goings of people haha
but awesome that it's working for you ed especially that you are location independent and travelling!
Cheers to more productive time in cafes or wherever you may find yourself =)
