watches

I need a watch, I want one already. Not just to act and look cool, but to have a timepiece I can also share to my son in the future. Maybe I can get come of those luxury watches that would cost an arm or a leg. But we’ll see, my status isn’t fit for that lifestyle yet. Maybe soon, but right now, everything’s still fine and okay.

in a hurry

I’m typing this as fast as I can, it’s 4:30pm. By 5pm, I should be at Mcdo Jones to meet up with my fellow workmates. Our boat’s departure is at 7:00pm and we have to be there early. It’s a bit stressful at a point since I’m worried if our other colleague who’s flight will be delayed. She’s going to join us and we already bought tickets for her. I just hope it won’t be delayed.

I’ve got 25 minutes to take a quick shower and pack my things. Christ, I haven’t packed yet! A week in another island and I haven’t packed! Well, I better hurry.

Checklist:

  • camera, with extra batteries - check
  • clothes for a week - check
  • toiletries - check
  • money - check
  • phone - check
  • my medical insurance - check (hehe)
  • tickets - check

Good luck to us!

esteem

Getting something done to augment the face is not really that big of a deal nowadays. Almost everyone is open to the idea of getting surgery. I don’t have anything against these people and even ideas since if this is what they want, then so be it; to each his own as they say.

Everyone has had their fair share of issues with low self-esteem. We all have to deal with being able to cope with not liking oneself and wanting to be somebody else or at least getting the body part of a famous celebrity. Sometimes, these sentiments go to a certain extent that it’s already too much it is overkill. That’s what I don’t like about it. The mentality that people face everyday usually is dictated by what keeps us going; money and media. We are influenced by what we see and hear; even certain occasions are exploited in order to earn some money while at it.

Like getting rhinoplasty which is also known as revision rhinoplasty or bad nose job repair, or getting a face lift for those saggy features or just about any so-called “enhancement”. I don’t know about you but it’s already anybody’s choice whether he or she likes to boost up one’s confidence through this or not.

stressed

Yesterday was a hectic day for me. First thing I was presented with when I woke up are things I needed to do.

  1. Call Ashley (my former colleague during my fastfood days) and encourage her to apply to the company I’m affiliated with. She still has issues with interviews.
  2. Talk to HR about a wavemate who wants to go back to work and wants to know the process for rehires, since I couldn’t refer him.
  3. Talk to Wena and rebook her flight at an earlier time so she can join us for tonight’s trip to Surigao. I don’t know how many times I called Cebu Pacific (who were always busy).
  4. Do some TL reviews in advance since I won’t be at work the whole of next week.
  5. Since it’s the week ending, I had to do some site feedback for the center I was currently assigned.
  6. As I was about to proceed to work, the lending company where I borrowed money said that my payroll card was eaten by the machine. Sheesh. To think that this is supposed to be my last day of paying them and I could finally see my card after more than a year. Lastly,
  7. Buy a ticket to Siargao.

Fast track to Now:
I was able to call some people and get things done. Wena’s flight was rebooked, after a long process. Still haven’t talked to HR. I was able to finish my reports. As for the last two, I couldn’t work on my atm card, it will have to be the week after my leave. Good thing there’s internet banking; I can just transfer my funds. Now, I’m off to the ticketing office and hope that my bunk’s going to be near my travelmates who’ve already purchased in advance.

face it

Having something enhanced to showcase one’s features is a life-changing experience to some; as this definitely highlights one of their weakest points in their lives. That’s why I don’t find anything wrong with reality TV shows that talk about people wanting to have something changed with the way they look. As this is part of their decision to get something altered to make themselves feel better.

Most people are not comfortable with the idea of having low self-esteem. That’s why it isn’t really an issue to talk to somebody. At least if you want something changed, why not let those experts that you can believe and are certified do it, right? It’s because it’s hard to get a hold of people who are respected in their careers without shelling out an arm or a leg. You need to find information with people you trust, I mean true specialists at their chosen field. This is to ensure that you feel safe and secure all throughout as it also adds to the effect on how you would like things to be. Getting some contact information like TodaysFace Dr Russ Kridel in the 77030 area code is good already as it’s by now a start to know where you can find good people.

leyte: day 2

March 22, 2008 Good Friday

We were supposed to go to our main destination today, but it was postponed. So we spent it at the city proper instead (Ormoc). We watched reruns of 7th Heaven on Studio 23 in the pension house, probably a sign of boredome? hehe. At night we went strolling, walking and strolling again.

I didn’t know that Leyte is the place where there was a great flood in 1991 where around 6000 or 8000 people died. Dang. That was already 17 years ago, but it still is creepy knowing that this place was where dead bodies were hurled into the sea. Spooky.

lipo

I was waiting for my travel mates to finish buying their tickets as we were already delayed in the place we were planning to tour around. It was a pretty tiring day as well since it is summer and it’s already too hot to think about it even. Good thing I had a fruit shake on my hand to ward off the stress and the temperature. Don’t get me wrong, I love the season and the many activities it brings. It’s just a matter of overcoming the waiting part since you need to have a whole lot of patience when you have to journey from place to place, lining up and squeezing to smelly people in the process.

Anyway, there I was, sipping my fresh buko shake, and reading a magazine about other things other than the animals. Suddenly, I came across an article; actually it’s more of an advertisement about liposuction revision. I was like “huh?” cause I found it weird and entertaining at the same time. Getting some withdrawal of excess fat from local areas under the skin by means of a small incision and vacuum suctioning is quite tasty in some sense. Yeah right. Anyway, whatever makes people happy, they do they’re thing, I do mine.

first massage

I got a body massage in Alibyo, near our office. It was a colleague’s treat (thanks Doi!) so it was indeed worth it. Now, my body’s aching cause I’m not used to getting a massage. Maybe when I was still a kid, I had lots since I played and got sick a lot. But after grade school, it never really became a habit. So now, I’m covered with lineament all over. Again, it was free so I’m contented. Now I can sleep, I just don’t know how I’ll feel when I wake up. hehe.

beachy banks

I dream of a house near the beach where I can just go there every summer and spend days under the sun and nights with the cool sea breeze. That’s why I need to get a flat from some Outer Banks rentals. Temporarily I can get a property I can stay in without having to worry of other expenses as I’ll also be safe.

happy

My leave was approved! I’ll be on leave the whole of next week! I deserve a break. I do.

move

While searching for information about the place we were going to spend a short vacation during holy week, I saw a sign saying to get mover NYC. It’s actually kinda nice that when you transfer to another place, everything is well taken care of. So maybe I’ll think about getting some proper service so I’d have no worries and sore muscles upon moving.

leyte: day 1

Day 1 @ Leyte : Sabin Hotel Resort
Maundy Thursday
March 20-23, 2008

This is my first Holy Week to be away from home. While my brother is enjoying his time in Camiguin, Cagayan & Bukidnon, I spent mine in Leyte & Biliran with his colleagues. It was a bit awkward at first, since I didn’t really know “know” the people I’ll be going with since it was a colleague who somewhat forced *ehem* sold the idea to me. But sooner than I thought, I was able to relate with them.

Fare from Cebu (Pier 1) to Ormoc, Leyte Pier - 450 Php
Departed at around 11am and arrived at 4:30pm
Travel Time: 5 hours 30 minutes

Anyway, this is the first leg of the event, we went to Ormoc and ate at Sabin Hotel Resort, courtesy of Kimy’s pop. Free food is always the best! hehe

bebe

I had a weird ambition of having a child at an early age, I even wrote a long, cheesy story about it; from baby clothes to kid toys to puberty to adult decisions. Sure, it may be cute with all those polka dot patches, but I guess it never came true for me right now. Maybe some other time, if I still have a lot, I’ll be able to wrap him/her with a warm blanket.
