Mexican Food at Rosa Mexicano in Dubai Mall

Over the Eid Holiday, Jana and I went to the Rosa Mexicano Restaurant located in The Dubai Mall for some Mexican cuisine. There were plenty of people inside the shopping mall since everybody was in a festive mood. It was, after all, the break after the fasting month of Ramadan in the UAE.

It’s also the end of July and after flipping through our Entertainer book, we still had plenty of restaurant stubs that were waiting to be used! Since it’s been awhile since we last went out, we decided on using one of the buy one-get one coupons available.

Rosa Mexicano or “Mexican Pink”  Restaurant

The resto is located at the Lower Ground Floor of The Dubai Mall, along with plenty other restaurants and food shops. When we arrived, there were already many customers inside; but they still had a lot of seats available.

From outside, we could already see that the place is very spacious and has a lively and colorful interior decoration. Towards the back, they have a miniature Human Waterfalls set-up which looked pretty interesting as you dine.

Entertainer Coupon Booboo

Prior to getting a table, we asked if we could use our free coupon to which the staff replied that it was NOT possible since it was a holiday. We tried to clarify if this was only this restaurant that did not honor the Entertainer stub, but they confirmed that it applies to ALL the establishments. How could I forget this disclaimer in the book? Bummer. Oh well, since we were already there, we decided to use the stub next time.

Guacamole, Quesadillas, and Fajitas

One of the specialties of this restaurant is their freshly made guacamole with avocado, jalapeno, tomato, onion, and cilantro. Served with tortilla chips and tomato salsa. This is made in a traditional lava-rock mortar and prepared tableside. But we didn’t order it since we just wanted a taste of it which is already part of our Quesadillas and Fajitas. Why did I mention te guacamole when we didn’t order it? Trip lang. hehe.

We ordered Chicken Quesadillas (56 AED) and Mixed Chicken, Beef and Shrimp Fajitas (99 AED) and didn’t realize that the servings were huge! We were so full afterwards.

Tortillas have free refill!

The restaurant reminded me of Mooon cafe in Cebu when I used to work in a call center. I remember lunches with colleagues over Mexican food.  Anyway, if you want to try this in Dubai, you might want to visit the mall. They also have another branch in Mirdif City Center.
