alternative

Save me from this prison
Lord help me get away
Cause only you can save me now
From this misery
Cause I’ve been lost in my own place
And I’m getting’ weary
How far is heaven

by the way, isn’t alternative too mainstream nowadays? now dont get me wrong, i like ’em too. but weren’t they better during the 90’s? when alternative was really alternative. sure, there were some sappy acts like the proliferation of boybands, divas and entirely pop culture (not to mention the spice girls). but at least alternative was really raw at that time and so fresh that it’s actually a change to listen to. now, it seems it’s getting a little way too pop-ish. i guess i’m a non-conformist at heart. or is it a tell-tale sign that im getting way out of my league? (read:OLD).

which reminds me of a super saturday article about some cosmetology colleges on the inquirer by pam pastor (couldn’t find the link) about the times that’ve changed. everyone wants to be weird. all wants to be different that it’s normal to be one. quoting also from a movie that i barely saw:

helen parr: Everybody’s special, Dash.

dash parr: Which is another way of saying nobody is.

&amp;lt;META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT=&amp;quot;0; URL=/ym/login?nojs=1&amp;quot;&amp;gt; still not in the mood for writing. if ever i blog, it’s usually an update or a lame attempt of composing poetry. i’m not really much a fan of poems. just something in them, too vague and deceiving. it’s too safe – when you compose something, as if you want to talk about it, but you don’t want other people to know it. not that i won’t make some anymore. sigh. this is one of those ‘i don’t get myself’ days.

been working on something, hope everything turns out well. in the mean time, i’m drowning myself with chillaxin’ music (some reggae or anything laidback) as a way to beat the heat. sheesh, summer’s hot.

E.E. Cummings once said ‘To be nobody-but-yourself – in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else – means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.’

Anyway, yeah, things change, Punk-Emo is the new Alternative. Hahahaha. The sign of the times.

Circee’s in Davao for her YFC thingie… =)

same goes w/ country music, although i don’t really care for that music genre, it’s getting a bit pop-ish as well. & it also seems like you have to be “attractive” sans talent to get in the music business.
