Bacolod: day 1

Bacolod 1: SM City, Robinsons, Manokan Country
Friday, April 24, 2008

Went to Citilink (terminal for vans for hire) and whaddya know? When I got there, it only took a couple of minutes to load the van since I was the one lacking to make it full. Perfect timing.

Cebu to Toledo (van): 80 Php – 5:00am – 6:30am
Toledo Pier to San Carlos Pier (AS Express)- 200 Php – 7:30am – 8:00am
San Carlos Pier to the Terminal (tryke) – 20Php
Terminal to Bacolod City (van): 100 Php 8:00am – 10:00am

All the time, it took me 5 hours to get to Bacolod. I'm just very thankful that I got this information through Melisa, who regularly goes to Bacolod every weekend to study an additional course there. It was a bit weird for me as well, since I only got the instructions via phone. Or maybe I'm just one lucky bastard?

Anyway, when I got there, Doi toured me around the place. We went to the office where she was training, went to Robinsons which has the same construction that it had when I last lived here (Yes, I've lived here for 6 months during my freshman year in highschool), and went to SM Bacolod which I found the structure, very weird; cause from afar, it would form a letter "H".

We finished the night by eating in one of the stores in Manokan Country, which is comprised of establishments that serve more or less the same type of dishes (chicken inasal/grilled chicken).

  3. Is there Bacolod Chicken Inasal in Bacolod? I often heard Manokan Country in Bacolod than Bacolod Chicken Inasal.

  4. Jessica: hi, thanks for dropping by. I’m not so sure which chicken place that is. I only got to visit Manokan Country. I don’t know if they’re the same place as Bacolod Chicken Inasal. thanks again! 🙂
