Travel Movie: A Map for Saturday

Sometime last year, I watched “A Map for Saturday” with a few other travellers. A true story that involves a guy who left his job to travel the world for almost a year. He recorded his backpacking journey and interviewed other backpackers along the way. After his trip, he worked on his tapes and made it into a documentary. Most travellers I know have seen the movie and were left inspired.

Synposis: A MAP FOR SATURDAY is the product of a year’s travel through 26 countries on four continents. Emmy winning producer Brook Silva-Braga left his cushy gig with American TV network HBO to travel the world with five pounds of clothes and 30 pounds of video equipment. – source

On the Road Movie Trailer

One of the movies I’m looking forward to watching is “On the Road” which is based on a book with the same title. This was written by Jack Kerouac and despite being in the travelling scene for quite some time, I’ve only heard about Jack and his famous book recently.

I seldom get to watch movies but I fancy these road trip diary scenes as they had inspired me to do what I’m doing in the present. Here’s a trailer of the movie below.

Where the hell is Matt? was supposed to be a funny clip of him dancing but after a few edits, the idea of this dance in different international locations became viral which gave him widespread coverage of his travels.

This is the third installment of his video series. He started dancing in postcard photo locations in the background when he thought it became boring for him and decided to include people to dance with him.

My Bungy Jumping Experience at the Macau Tower

“Has anybody died from bungy jumping here?” – I had to bluntly ask the attendant at the lobby of the Macau Tower.
“No sir, if there had been an accident, all of our AJ Hackett locations would’ve closed down.” – I liked the frank response.

It’s been 10 days after I bungy jumped from the Macau Tower, but the incident is still fresh in my mind. All the way from Cebu to Hong Kong to Macau, I never imagined I could do this, well I did; but I didn’t think it would come too soon.

Check out my video of bungy jumping from the world’s highest bungy. I initially planned on editing it in order to save whatever dignity I had left but I changed my mind. What the heck, right?
