Seair and Microtel Boracay Bloggers Tour

September 11-13, 2010

Two days after my birthday, I had the privilege of joining a group of bloggers to spend three days and two nights in Boracay. I was chosen as one of the winners of Seair and Microtel’s Boracay Blogger’s Tour. I published an entry on why I deserved to be part of the eight people who should go to this ultimate destination and I was very lucky enough to be chosen by Seair and Microtel judges.

Here’s my write-up about it: I’ve been to Different Places, but I’ve Never Been to Boracay

Seair and Microtel Bloggers Tour winners (Mica, Brenna, Gervic, Gael, Gracee, Van, Darwin) with the Seair and Microtel heads (thanks to mica for the pic)

I also wondered if I could take part of the event since I’m from Cebu and the rest of the winners were from Manila. After a few emails, I was booked a ticket from Cebu to Caticlan. It’s great that Seair has more options now in offering a ride from the Queen City of the South to this island paradise.

SEAIR & Microtel Boracay Bloggers’ Tour Winners!

I won a free trip to Boracay through the SEAIR & Microtel Boracay Bloggers’ Tour promo!

Some time last week, I wrote my entry about why I deserve a trip to the ultimate beach destination in the Philippines – Boracay. It took me about 4 hours to publish the entry because of having to go through a horde of pictures in my hard drive from 2008 to the present just to showcase the different places I’ve been to in the Philippines.

See entry here I’ve been to Different Places, But I’ve never been to Boracay

I’m really glad to win this contest and I wish to meet the other winners. Below is the list that Seair has posted in their Facebook page.

Bohol and back to Cebu

The trip to Bohol was great. Although among the 16 people who confirmed, only 10 joined, I still had fun. I’m actually a bit groggy from the travel and I haven’t gotten enough sleep so I’m posting some pictures of the places I’ve been to in Bohol.

Will be posting more in the coming days but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to create a good write-up. I’m still high with all the drama that has been happening in life and outside these days.

I’m going to the WordCamp Philippines 2010

WordCamp Philippines 2010

I already registered and paid my contribution for the WordCamp Philippines 2010. I submitted my information and scheduled the Breakaway Talks that I’ll be attending. I’ve chosen my t-shirt size and also provided my food preferences. All I have to do now is print out the ticket and then I’m all set!

The Word Camp Philippines 2010 is a good opportunity for me to meet other bloggers and WordPress users and expand my network as I seldom attend these types of activities. I would like to get to know more people and exchange ideas on blogging and social media as a whole.

This will be my first time to attend the Word Camp in the Philippines and I’m excited that I’ll be flying to Manila and participate in discussions with speakers who already know a lot about their craft. I’ll be able to take part in an important event that I’ll be able to take pride in as it’s only a few times that I take part in these occasions.

Lago Del Rey at Camsur Watersports Complex

You can feel like a kid again at Lago Del Rey at the Camsur Watersports Complex in Camarines Sur. I was there last year and the memory of having a giant playground with inflatable structures, is still fresh in my mind. The lake served as an obstacle course of some sort wherein you can just have fun. It’s a milder version of the popular show ‘Wipe Out’ but still enjoyable.

How to Get to Lago Del Rey in CWC

Lago Del Rey is located at the Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC). It’s about  20 minutes away from the Naga City Bus Terminal and around 10 minutes from the airport. Public utility vehicles (jeeps and trykes0 are available and you can ask for directions from the people around as it’s a very known destination. They’ll usually direct you to their provincial capitol as CWC is situated there.

Matukad Island in Caramoan

Matukad Island in the Caramoan peninsula is one of the places we dropped by for our island-hopping adventure in Camarines Sur.

This is actually the first island that we visited and we didn’t really expect much. There were a lot of tourists who traveled to this part of the country as the attractions were really well-marketed. With the Camsur Watersports Complex and the islands that were featured in various travel shows and internet blogs.

We rode a small boat and we were in awe at the beautiful rock formations that passed by before we headed to the island. If the boat were bigger, I wanted to ask them to stop the motor so we could jump off and dive into the waters. It reminded me of the pictures that we see in Palawan – and I have yet to conquer the place.

Reminiscing Casaroro Falls

Casaroro Falls in Dumaguete is one of the waterfalls in the Philippines that shut my mouth up. Not that I’ve been to a lot of falls already but there’s something mystic about the place. I guess it’s because it really takes a long hike to get to the body of water and when you finally reach the destination, you feel energized knowing that you have trekked a far distance.

In our case, we didn’t really hike from Dumaguete to Valencia; we took a shortcut and rode some motorcycles (habal-habal) due to time constraints. However, the stairs going down and up was enough to keep our legs sore for the next 2 days – You have to take 335 steps in order to get to the bottom and go up with the same number in order to get back to the starting point.

Casaroro Falls is actually located in Valencia in Negros Oriental and not in Dumaguete City’; which is a nearby town as well. I suggest that anyone who wants to stay in Dumaguete to drop by Casaroro and be amazed at this nature’s wonder.

CoffeeCat in Cebu Asiatown IT Park

CoffeeCat
Ground Floor of EBloc Tower Building
Asiatown IT Park, Lahug, Cebu City

One weekend, Doi and I decided to visit Cebu’s newest coffee shop, Coffeecat in Asiatown IT Park, in order to check out their coffee and yogurt offerings. We wanted a place to hang out and finish our freelance jobs as we still had some pending tasks to work on. We were there a day after their grand opening and the cafe was packed but we were able to find a free spot inside to sit.

Coffeecat cafe is a lifestyle coffee shop idea which is owned and managed by Coffeecat Corporation. This place originated in my hometown which is in Davao City and it has now arrived in the shores of Cebu at the eBloc Tower Building.

Magpupungko Rock in Siargao

I miss Siargao. This was one of the first places I visited two years ago which started my love for traveling and blogging about the place I traveled.
