back to school. as usual, guess will always be till eternity, a late enrollee. didn’t know that it could be such a hassle. especially if there’re more than one campus to go to and fro for the processing of requirements. i’m still lucky for availing a schedule that a few people would actually drool over. i tried so hard to squeeze in all the subjects in the afternoon, since i need to help at work during the day.
here’s me sked for the next 5 months.

or if you have table manners (hehe), it would look more or less like this.
23 units. full load. have classes in the morning from monday to wednesday, so not to create conflict with work. wish i could move them in the afternoon (or night) so i could stretch the time needed for operations. i got closed down by the remaining schedule so what can i say? coerced.
anyway, status is now 2nd year, irregular; sheesh. like i have a better alternative. i can only imagine me succumbing to caffeine to at least give my body a much-needed go on sunrise. but nah, gotta find other ways to win over anesthetic cold and rainy evenings; since i’ll be physically abused in the morning while being mentally drained in the afternoon up to the night. what a way to start a stressful schoolyear. oh well i guess patience is one of my virtues *wink*.
oh yeah, the uniform for the male was postponed to the next semester. also there’s this new ID swipe system that’s been introduced, at 250 Php additional to what’s already a mouthful of tuition fees. another topic to be contradicted by student activists. go LFS! whatever.
on a sadder note (yes, sad). i looked like a jackass not knowing where my room was on my first subject. being an old student, i should’ve had the decency enough to locate the designated rooms on my load. but no. i tried to be the mister know-it-all coming a little bit later than the alloted time since it was still “early”. to cut the story short, i found my room after 40 minutes, all pooped and panting. only there was no teacher around. when i inquired from the students inside if there was a class, they told me that they were for the next session. the instructor already left. i also had a bit of a time clarifying if that place was the proper room. i stuttered. but with my case, who wouldn’t? great that i had a tongue-twisting room name to pronounce on a hot afternoon. try it, after an exhausting exercise, say: “is this room 222T?” 3 times, mouth dry.
in lieu with first day mishaps, my brother and i are classmates in physics. the one thing we tried so hard when we chose our skeds. was shocked when i bumped into him in class. well, it’s not like the world’s gonna crumble if you collide two offsprings in one subject, maybe lightning would strike. but that’s really of no deal.
this is what happened to add the list of casualties on my part.
Scene in Physics 31
instructor was explaining the grading system in class.
instructor: 50 percent from the class standing, 50 percent midterm grade… blah… blah… blah… 50 percent tentative final grade… blah… blah… blah… and a lot more 50 percents… blah… blah… blah… any questions? or clarifications?
-silent-
instructor: since there’re no questions, i’ll be the one to ask you. do i fail students? anyone who wants to answer? Mr. (last name), DANIEL, what do you think?
my brother: yes?
– laughter in class –
instructor: you are wrong! i don’t fail students. it’s the students who fail themselves. i’m just the one who computes the grades. you are the ones making your grades. it depends on you if you participate in class and study hard or not. now for my other question i would like to call another Mr. (last name), but this time it’s EDCEL. what are the chances of you getting the grade you want?
me: 50 percent?
-another sound of laughter-
instructor: you are also wrong! you have a 100 percent control of how you want your grade to be. *dazed look on us*
talk about unwanted limelight. brother said that he thought the instructor was the
kolokoy type. who wanted jokes fired back and forth the people in class. was having a difficult time on how to answer. i, on the other hand, replied the obvious cause i also wondered if he was also a kolokoy. since he was discussing about 50 percents, why not add some more eh? and to realize what he will think now of these two siblings and the impression we gave him. dumb and dumber anyone?
so we thought wrong. he was indeed the serious type. reminded me of our highschool adviser back. when he’d blurt out a corny (read: extremely corny) joke in class, nix and i would laugh like we were about to cry, aloud at that. plastik kumbaga. just to at least break the silence when we couldn’t get the punchline. looking at the deadpan expression of our adviser, it seemed like we weren’t very nice to him. but he was a good sport that he maintained his stance and continued the lesson. still he deserved the forced chuckles.
so this is the life, busy as a bee. think i’m down with the flu or am just getting it. now i better go before i sting somebody.

at least you have your brother to keep you sane(?). I always liked it when my sisters & I would be in the same class. I had one of them in Choir together back in highschool. She was in the soprano section & I was in the alto section. everytime I’d look over her way she’d make faces at me. my classmates thought I was nuts coz I was cracking up by myself.

ravissant: nyak. kami, dapat malayo sa isa’t-isa… hehe… pero pag roll-call ng teacher, lalong nakaka-attract ng attention pag tinanong kung ba’t di kami magkatabi.
nix: LoL. he’s a good adviser noh? gud luck with yours.
amia: ows??? gud luck na rin na lang sa iba mong mga ‘blues’ hehe..
