After a 13-day Vacation…

I’m back to work. I want another vacation though, just to catch up on a lot of pending posts.

First, there was Bohol; then my first trip abroad in Hongkong-Macau. Lastly was the free trip to Boracay courtesy of Seair and Microtel Hotels Resort. I don’t even have enough time to update my sites one by one. I’m cramming myself up into making sure that I get to post at least one entry each but I don’t know where to start.

I should probably stay calm cause I might end up getting no productivity at all.

Somehow, it seems that I’m just starting these trips and I have a lot more that are going to be available for me in the upcoming months. But I don’t want to jinx it. Will be talking more about my trips to these three places (two rural areas and one urban location).

For now, here are just a few pictures of the retreat from work.

My Bungy Jumping Experience at the Macau Tower

“Has anybody died from bungy jumping here?” – I had to bluntly ask the attendant at the lobby of the Macau Tower.
“No sir, if there had been an accident, all of our AJ Hackett locations would’ve closed down.” – I liked the frank response.

It’s been 10 days after I bungy jumped from the Macau Tower, but the incident is still fresh in my mind. All the way from Cebu to Hong Kong to Macau, I never imagined I could do this, well I did; but I didn’t think it would come too soon.

Check out my video of bungy jumping from the world’s highest bungy. I initially planned on editing it in order to save whatever dignity I had left but I changed my mind. What the heck, right?

soloflightEd bungy jumps from Macau Tower!

Just got back to the Hostel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hongkong from a day tour in Macau. It’s been a tiring day and I was really amazed at the casinos and buildings in Macau. I didn’t expect it to be really amazing.

But I had an even better time when I was able to cheat death by bungy jumping from the Macau Tower! I’ve been planning the bungy jump since last year and finally I did it!

Update from Mongkok, Hongkong

I have arrived in Hongkong. I have stepped on foreign soil, finally!

I got lost in the process and I’m still tired from all the walking. We went to the Mongkok Computer Center today and was amazed at the electronics and other gadgets that were available. I bought a Wireless router for myself – that’s the only thing I bought for this day. I paid only 158 HKD (around 900 Php) for it!

I haven’t packed for Hongkong

I have one more day left and I still haven’t packed my things! I’ll be leaving for Hongkong (yes, you heard it right) and no matter how hot the topic is for the place is right now, I don’t think any turning back will happen. But then I don’t want to speak too soon.

Anyway, I’ll be away for a week but I haven’t even sorted out the things I need to bring. So much for cramming.

  • clothes good for a week – maybe I’ll just bring around 3 sets of clothes and I’ll wash the rest when I get to the hostel/hotel.
  • toiletries – deodorants, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, paste – nuff said.
  • gadgets – I’m not sure if I should carry around my tripod but definitely I’ll bring my laptop and camera, I still need to blog since I can’t be away for a week without my HP540.
  • passport & ticket – My friend said that I should have copies of my passport and place them in my bag, wallet and another place for security just in case my real passport gets lost.
  • money – I should not forget this, can’t really move around if you don’t have cash.

SEAIR & Microtel Boracay Bloggers’ Tour Winners!

I won a free trip to Boracay through the SEAIR & Microtel Boracay Bloggers’ Tour promo!

Some time last week, I wrote my entry about why I deserve a trip to the ultimate beach destination in the Philippines – Boracay. It took me about 4 hours to publish the entry because of having to go through a horde of pictures in my hard drive from 2008 to the present just to showcase the different places I’ve been to in the Philippines.

See entry here I’ve been to Different Places, But I’ve never been to Boracay

I’m really glad to win this contest and I wish to meet the other winners. Below is the list that Seair has posted in their Facebook page.

Apprehensive to go to Hongkong

I will be going on a trip to Hongkong from September 1 to 8 – that’s next week. Just my luck that the hostage crisis took place last week. Because of the recent activities that happened, I’m now apprehensive to push through with the trip for fear of safety and discrimination.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going through with the travel as this will be my first time to step foot on foreign ground. Like everyone, I am saddened by the result of the hostage negotiation that led to the death of 8 people.

I feel ashamed of myself knowing that we’ve caused this distress to other nationalities. What made me upset were the pictures that were shown of the incident and bystanders who even had the guts to have their shots taken as though the place were a tourist destination.

Bohol and back to Cebu

The trip to Bohol was great. Although among the 16 people who confirmed, only 10 joined, I still had fun. I’m actually a bit groggy from the travel and I haven’t gotten enough sleep so I’m posting some pictures of the places I’ve been to in Bohol.

Will be posting more in the coming days but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to create a good write-up. I’m still high with all the drama that has been happening in life and outside these days.

I’m going to the WordCamp Philippines 2010

WordCamp Philippines 2010

I already registered and paid my contribution for the WordCamp Philippines 2010. I submitted my information and scheduled the Breakaway Talks that I’ll be attending. I’ve chosen my t-shirt size and also provided my food preferences. All I have to do now is print out the ticket and then I’m all set!

The Word Camp Philippines 2010 is a good opportunity for me to meet other bloggers and WordPress users and expand my network as I seldom attend these types of activities. I would like to get to know more people and exchange ideas on blogging and social media as a whole.

This will be my first time to attend the Word Camp in the Philippines and I’m excited that I’ll be flying to Manila and participate in discussions with speakers who already know a lot about their craft. I’ll be able to take part in an important event that I’ll be able to take pride in as it’s only a few times that I take part in these occasions.

One big problem — where to find some money? I booked different flights due to Cebu Pacific's promo fares in different occasions and offerings but one thing is for sure, the discounts didn't cost me much. Only now I have to look for some cash for my budget. Here are my travels.

This Year:
August – Bohol
September – Hongkong, Macau
October – Manila, Kota Kinabalu, Singapore
November – Iloilo

Next Year:
January – Davao

Lago Del Rey at Camsur Watersports Complex

You can feel like a kid again at Lago Del Rey at the Camsur Watersports Complex in Camarines Sur. I was there last year and the memory of having a giant playground with inflatable structures, is still fresh in my mind. The lake served as an obstacle course of some sort wherein you can just have fun. It’s a milder version of the popular show ‘Wipe Out’ but still enjoyable.

How to Get to Lago Del Rey in CWC

Lago Del Rey is located at the Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC). It’s about  20 minutes away from the Naga City Bus Terminal and around 10 minutes from the airport. Public utility vehicles (jeeps and trykes0 are available and you can ask for directions from the people around as it’s a very known destination. They’ll usually direct you to their provincial capitol as CWC is situated there.

Matukad Island in Caramoan

Matukad Island in the Caramoan peninsula is one of the places we dropped by for our island-hopping adventure in Camarines Sur.

This is actually the first island that we visited and we didn’t really expect much. There were a lot of tourists who traveled to this part of the country as the attractions were really well-marketed. With the Camsur Watersports Complex and the islands that were featured in various travel shows and internet blogs.

We rode a small boat and we were in awe at the beautiful rock formations that passed by before we headed to the island. If the boat were bigger, I wanted to ask them to stop the motor so we could jump off and dive into the waters. It reminded me of the pictures that we see in Palawan – and I have yet to conquer the place.
