June

If the previous days I had the bad case of going back and forth the bathroom, right now I’m down with the flu.

I was hoping to be in Dumaguete already, talking to old friends over beer but it got postponed. I don’t know how many times this has happened already. But when I checked my salary, I’m a bit relieved that the trip didn’t push through. Because if it did, by Monday I would be broke already. I hate the fact that the money you’ve worked for and earned is already allocated to different bills and budget. Also, with the amount of overtime that I rendered, I was expecting a lot come the 30th; but I wasn’t too happy about it. I blame tax.

Because I’m stuck at home, I’m working my ass off to learn CS3. I really wanted to get this software but when I finally had the chance to install it in my system, I’m too tired to just search for different tutorials just to understand. I wish to apply for some short-term classes but people say it’s not advisable cause aside from being expensive, you can’t really learn everything in it. In my case though, I need to have a classroom environment so I’ll feel obligated to concentrate on them because I’m paying for the class. Besides, I don’t have any background with photoshop so it’s really good if I can get started. By the way, anybody has some tips on where I can get some free tutorials online? Just in case I won’t feel lazy. hehe.

Speaking of classes, I’m supposed to enrol myself already so I can continue studying and hopefully finishing to get a degree. But I’m afraid that it’s a bit vague for me to do because of different responsibilities that I need to focus more. Yeah right, Ed. You can spend going out of town and yet you can’t sacrifice the amount, even if it’s big, for education.

So talking about enrolling, I’m planning to apply for a gym membership as well. It’s something about the people who I’m working with that are also taking part in maintaining an active lifestyle. But I’m still too lazy to just check out some gyms that aren’t too expensive.

Anyway, it’s the first of June and it’s starting to get cold. Summer is finally over and rain is coming right at us. I’m a bit early for being sick but at least I’m recovering.

skin

I’ve had my share of trying to find the best acne treatment when I was in my post-adolescent years. I blamed depression, stress and working non-stop for being that phase. It would break down anybody’s self-esteem especially when you see different photos of picture-perfect people. That’s why one should be careful and wary with regard to health and staying healthy cause I don’t want to be in that stage ever.

figaro

Figaro just had a soft opening the other night and since we were in the night shift, we figured with drop by to grab something to eat. I don’t really like coffee but I needed one to keep me up. We were also hoping to get at least some nice freebies but nah, they didn’t have any.

I ordered coffee jelly which was a bit too strong.

postponed

So my supposed trip was postponed.  I was preparing for the event already since my leave was approved today and on Monday which means I have more time to just visit the place and not really care much about time. But because of certain unfortunate events, my trip to Dumaguete wouldn’t push throught. At least not now anyway. This is what one gets when one becomes uberly excited in expecting something to happen. It never does.

presentation

It’s very important with technology nowadays that your report should be highly presentable. People who don’t own a computer would get some laptop rentals in order to finish the business presentation or school project needed to beat the deadline. Gone are the days when one would use some cartolina or manila paper to write the information about their reports. Well, maybe not totally; but if you want to get an A or a nod from higher colleagues, then you don’t want to compromise the presentation itself.

sick

I went to work last night, thinking I’d be able to finish a lot of evaluations but I was wrong. In the middle of my shift, I frequently visited the restroom to be able to relieve myself. I don’t know what I ate but went back and forth the bathroom 5 times. I tried to drink some gatorade to replace the electrolytes which I don’t know their purpose but I just obeyed my colleagues’ advice.

However, I also threw up because my stomach couldn’t take the grape flavored gatorade. Anyway, I went to our clinic and the company nurse gave me some meds. I really wanted to sleep or just take a nap, but the mattress in the clinic was already occupied by another employee. I tried going to the lounge, still the bean bags were already taken. I wanted to go home already but I was torn between finishing my quota for the day and just taking a rest. My workmates told me that it’s useless being physically present when I’m sick because I’d still be unproductive; which is true. I never got to work properly that I just gave up.

What I did is bring my pillow from my locker and slept on my desk. Besides, even if I wanted to go home, I was too weak to even stand up. I figured I’d rest for a few hours.

I’ve never been this sick. Serves me right for wishing before that I’d be sick so I could go to the hospital and be admitted without paying for the expenses as it’s covered by my health insurance. Now I’m eating my words. I don’t want to be sick. I feel so vulnerable when I do; helpless even.

I’m feeling better now, I just need to take my mind off work I guess. I believe I can do so anyway; I’ll be on leave this Friday and Monday and I’m planning to visit Dumaguete. Which makes me realize that I have to do some evaluations in advance just to reach our quota. Shoot. I have to work double then as I’ll be on leave. Sigh. Thinking about work makes me even sicker.

dumaguete

I’m planning to finally visit Dumaguete.

A friend told me that I had much time to go to other places but I never visited the place where I spent my years in high school. I felt guilty so I figured that I’d have to push Dumaguete through, provided that we go to a place I haven’t been to that’s relatively cheap and good for taking pictures.

I’ve spent 3.5 years in Dumaguete but I haven’t really explored the place. Circee told me that we can visit Twin Lake, I liked the sound of that. hehe. Again, it’s all up to the weather, I already filed for leave on Friday and Monday. But since payday will still be on Friday and I’m cash-strapped, I’m just going to depart maybe on Saturday.

Cebu to Dumaguete
I’m hoping the weather will be good.

Madeleine

A colleague and I went to Madeleine after their supposed “work out” at Citigym in Waterfront Hotel. They kept on inviting me to join them but I’m still hesitant because one: I don’t have the luxury to spend a 2,500 bucks a month just for a gym membership and two: I’m trying to get fat. hehe. Really, they said that it’s just for a month in order to feel what it’s like to be in a good gym near work. Well, I want to try their sauna but maybe next time.

Anyway, this post is supposed to be about Madeleine, a cake shop inside the hotel. My colleague brought me to the place because of how good their ENSAYMADA was. We bought the chocolate ensaymada and according to my colleague, it’s best when the chocolate would stick to the bread because it’s half-melted as well as the butter inside so you can feel the texture being soft and delicious.

However, when the ensaymada was presented to us, the waitress told us it was heated but there was no sign of the chocolate or the butter being melted. But we didn’t really complain much because we were already hungry to eat it. hehe. So if you’re planning to drop by the cake shop and buy some, demand that the ensaymada be reheated!

We also ordered some blueberry cheesecake. I wasn’t much of a fan of cheesecakes, but I soon grew to love ‘em. Because we were eating sweets already, plus the drinks were expensive, we just asked for some tap water. hehe.

broke

I can’t believe I used up my money. Of course I paid some bills but when I checked my accounting, I wonder where it had all gone off. There are 4 more days left till payday comes and I’m just out of luck, cause I’ll be starving until the end of the month. You still have a few more days, Ed. You can sacrifice a little; somebody hand me a hammer to smash my savings.

In lieu with being cash-strapped, I’m finding more ways to increase my salary. Aside from side-blogging, I’m doing Overtime work, poor me? Not really, since I don’t have anything to spend over the weekend because again, I don’t have any resource; I’m just going to work just to earn more. I’ll be the one who’ll have the last laugh come payday anyway. hehe. But I don’t want to get my hopes too high, I don’t want to assume things if they aren’t there yet. But I’m excited; broke but excited.

Casa Gorordo

As I was about to go home from work, I was met by some colleagues at the lobby. They invited me to go to Casa Gorordo cause they felt historical at that time. Since I’ve never gone to the museum, I joined them.

They don’t allow taking pictures inside the house itself, dunno why; but we were able to manage some stolen shots. They don’t allow it cause maybe a ghost might suddenly pop out in the picture. But so far, as I was uploading the photos, nothing came up; I hope it stays that way. hehe.

According to my friend, Casa Gorordo is the only house that survived the bombing during the war. I don’t know which war, I hate history; hehe. It’s now owned by the Aboitiz Foundation. The house has been restored as a house museum which showcases the elegant lifestyle before in the mid-19th century.

Anyway, as we were walking down the halls, it has this great, old ambiance. I love a house made of wood because I grew up in one. Besides, wood is colder; hehe. We didn’t see any supernatural signs though. It was a good experience overall; being able to step on a very old house.

I’m back to the night shift, after almost a year of having a regular and healthy shift schedule. I’ll be faced with sleeping and shitting issues again. Well, it’s good for the night diff. Maybe I’m more productive at night. Hopefully, I can do more evaluations in order to reach our quota.

Welcome back COFFEE.
