Off-Road 4×4 Adventure to Puning Hot Springs in Angeles, Pampanga

After checking out from the Widus Hotel Resort, we prepared for another adventure, this time an off-road 4×4 ride to Puning Hot Springs in Angeles, Pampanga.

The breakfast buffet at the resort was wonderful, if only we had more time. But it was a busy day as we had another set of activities lined up for us.

Off Road Adventure to the Puning Hot Springs

4×4 vehicles welcomed us and it was cool to see a row of them displayed as if we got to choose which one we could drive. Of course, it didn’t matter which color we rode as we were but passengers of these open-air wheels.

Jungle Trek to Chemerung Waterfalls in Terengganu, Malaysia

I’m so glad to have finally participated in the jungle trek to the Chemerung Waterfalls in Terengganu, Malaysia. It was my last week at the Tanjong Jara Resort and this nature adventure was one of the activities I wanted to do right away. I stayed in a five-star resort for two months, but I was … Read more

Back on the Road

After a month and a half, I’m back on the road. I got past the immigration counter without them asking for much information. Compared to my experience last February when I was interviewed twice, this time was a breeze. They only asked for my return ticket and I was through. Maybe smiling at them did the trick, I don’t really know. I’m just glad I’m at the pre-boarding area now.

I started my backpacking adventure after I quit my job of six years to see if a digital nomad’s lifestyle is truly for me. I spent two months outside the country but it was cut short due to personal reasons. While in the Philippines, I maximized my time by spending it with family and friends. Being away for a while made me look at life from a different angle which made it a great opportunity to reconnect with people; especially my loved ones.

I also visited Manila, twice; and met a number of travel bloggers, old and new. It was swell to mingle and get inspired to continue this passion of mine by being with them for coffee or pizza.

Lakbay Norte 3: Outdoor Adventures in North Philippines

I was so overwhelmed by the responses I received from my previous blog entry that I don’t know if I can come up with another ‘share-worthy’ post. But based on the comments, a lot of people have but a slight idea of my plans after announcing that I was going to resign in order to start a location-independent lifestyle. In reality, I don’t really have a clear idea on what I’m going to do. All I know is that I have a few tickets booked and I’ll pursue a freelance career online. Slow travel is what I aim to do. But before going on that trip, here’s an event that also helped me decide to resign earlier than expected.

Lakbay Norte 3 Adventure

I was chosen by the North Philippines Visitors Bureau (NPVB), along with five other travel bloggers, as part of a media group to tour Northern Luzon dubbed as Lakbay Norte 3: Outdoor Adventures in North Philippines!

Winter Snow

It’s almost October and soon enough, the holiday season will be ringing in every corner. This moment last year was actually the time when I propelled my thirst for travelling. I remember I was able to travel to Hong Kong and Malaysia within 2 months and some neighboring provinces too. Blame it on so many flights that were booked because of promo fares that were available in the earlier part of the year. I haven’t even continued writing my articles about the places I’ve been.

Anyway, I came across a fellow blogger’s write-up about snow and shared a bit of his experience when he was in Canada and in tubing in snow. Don’t get me wrong, I love being in a tropical country. But I just keep wondering how it would be like to play with ice as it has been one of those plans that I want to do at least once.

Won Dispatch Magazine’s Hunt for EL SUPREMO

I won Dispatch Magazine’s Hunt for EL SUPREMO. It was a simple photo contest of posting your most fearless picture of yourself while traveling. Among the many photos that I have in my archive, I wondered which one to place but when they said we could create a collage, I decided to post most of my crazy photos in the different places I’ve been.

Prizes are:

  • Plane tickets to Kota Kinabalu for one male and one female contestant
  • Plane tickets to anywhere in the Philippines for another pair, and
  • 3 consolation prizes.

Full mechanics can be viewed here. Below is my photo entry with a caption on why I love traveling.

My entry to Dispatch Magazine’s Hunt for El Supremo

Bungy and cliff jumps, headstands and crazy stunts. I do just about anything to make the most of traveling. I live for adventure and share my stories in my travel blog (http://soloflightEd.com). Every journey is a work in progress as I learn more about life and discover realizations that I am normally unaware of when I’m stuck at the office. Traveling on a budget makes a trip more exciting as you acquire new skills of improvisation. Going on an expedition is not as expensive as you think; so long as you sacrifice little luxuries to gain experiences that are far more enriching.

dumaguete to siquijor

From Dumaguete to Siquijor, we’re still planning it out. We have 5 hours to think if we’ll push through. Most likely we will, I just can’t say in final until I’ll have the tickets. I don’t know what to expect in Siquijor, but hopefully it will be good. The only available trip would be at … Read more
