Aside from the Merloquet Waterfalls adventure, I was also excited to visit the famous Pink Island of Zamboanga. Aside from wanting to spend a day on the beach, I was curious how “pink” the sand was.

I was told that the corals before were bigger compared to these corals now.
Prior to the trip, we went to the Department of Tourism (DOT) to inquire about the day tour to the island. I’ve heard that tourists need security escorts to avoid unfortunate incidents like kidnapping. To be honest, I was a little hesitant because of this; but we were assured that it’s safe so long as we had these military men with us.
We registered our names at the DOT for reservation. Alternately, you can directly go to the port in Paseo del Mar as walk-in clients.

I recently realized how a lot of people go to other countries for a holiday because they can’t experience summer in their place at the time. Just like two weeks ago, I saw so many tourists in Bali, Indonesia. I was also there to lounge at the beach and just relax; a couple of times I went to the waves to practice surfing.
How we wish that we can just control the sun. But since we can’t, we can chase it wherever it is high up; that is if money’s no big issue.

In my case, I don’t normally take the weather into great consideration whenever I travel. I usually just book a flight and and deal with it as I arrive at my destination. I’m a little lucky because most of the time, the weather is on my side. *knocking on wood*

Had fun enjoying the different sights at the Villa Igang Beach Resort in Guimaras island. We only stayed there for a couple of hours as we had another set of places to visit during our day tour of the island. However, I wish we could’ve stayed longer.

There were just too many scenes aside from those pigeons in Villa Igang that I wish we had more time to spare so we could relax and enjoy the moment.

Kuya Jun (our driver/guide) recommended this resort as it was less crowded. When we got there, we were the only people there sans for the caretakers. We were able to see some caves as well as jump off a cliff
Aside from the beach, the resort has a butterfly garden, beautiful rock formations and caves. You can also spend the night on cottages that were set up for tourists.

I’m back to work. I want another vacation though, just to catch up on a lot of pending posts.
First, there was Bohol; then my first trip abroad in Hongkong-Macau. Lastly was the free trip to Boracay courtesy of Seair and Microtel Hotels Resort. I don’t even have enough time to update my sites one by one. I’m cramming myself up into making sure that I get to post at least one entry each but I don’t know where to start.
I should probably stay calm cause I might end up getting no productivity at all.

Somehow, it seems that I’m just starting these trips and I have a lot more that are going to be available for me in the upcoming months. But I don’t want to jinx it. Will be talking more about my trips to these three places (two rural areas and one urban location).
For now, here are just a few pictures of the retreat from work.
I have been to Santiago Bay Resort in Camotes Island twice. This happened in two separate team building activities in 2007 and 2008. There was only a year’s difference between the two instances but I saw a number of developments being done. This was the resort’s aim to accommodate more guests and to enjoy what Camotes can offer.

Matukad Island in the Caramoan peninsula is one of the places we dropped by for our island-hopping adventure in Camarines Sur.
This is actually the first island that we visited and we didn’t really expect much. There were a lot of tourists who traveled to this part of the country as the attractions were really well-marketed. With the Camsur Watersports Complex and the islands that were featured in various travel shows and internet blogs.

We rode a small boat and we were in awe at the beautiful rock formations that passed by before we headed to the island. If the boat were bigger, I wanted to ask them to stop the motor so we could jump off and dive into the waters. It reminded me of the pictures that we see in Palawan – and I have yet to conquer the place.
